Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) Director General, Prof. Dr. Vu Van Hien on January 29 received Javad Mottaghi, Director of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), who is on a visit to Vietnam.

Prof. Hien welcomed Mr Mottaghi’s visit and briefed his guest on major developments of VOV in recent times.

He said VOV has developed into a multi-media agency integrating four genres: radio broadcasting, television broadcasting, a print newspaper and an online newspaper.

Both traffic channels in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City – the two largest and busiest localities in the country – have received great support and encouragement from listeners for their useful information.

Although its radio image broadcasting channel (VOVTV) was established recently, it has received high appreciation from the government and the people.

Director Mottaghi congratulated VOV on its positive developments and acknowledged its contributions to the broadcasting industry in the Asia-Pacific region.

AIBD will continue to work closely with Vietnam to develop the industry and help the country integrate deeper into the regional and international broadcasting forums, he said.

The AIBD director held a working session with VOV International Cooperation Department to draw up future cooperation plans between the two organisations.
