According to the Department for Preventive Medicine and the Environment under the Ministry of Health, around 1.2 million dozes of A/H1N1 vaccine donated by the World Bank (WB) will arrive in Vietnam next month.

As many as 800,000 pregnant women (from the fourth month of pregnancy), people with chronic diseases and medical workers involved in flu control programmes will be vaccinated. Vietnam will also be provided with 10 million dozes of A/H1N1 vaccine next year.

The Ministry of Health says that the rate A/H1N1 infection has dropped to 65 percent of the total suspected cases. However, the number of critical cases needing hospital treatment continues to rise.
