ADB increases financing for Can Tho

VOV.VN - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is stepping up its financial commitments and committing to providing more money to finance projects in Can Tho over the next several years.

The Bank’s Vice President Vietnam Eric Sidgwick confirmed ADB would increase its funding to Can Tho over the next five years, adding: "if any ongoing project needs more financial resource we will lend more”.

The Bank will continue financing projects in Can Tho in the fields of health care, education and transport infrastructure, he told the Can Tho City People’s Committee on May 10 at a meeting.

The terms and conditions of the ADB loans will be dependent on the specific project itself.

Vo Thi Hong Anh, vice chair of the People’s Committee said Can Tho is hoping to mobilize loans of US$150 million over the next five years, well within the city’s financial capacity to repay.
