The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Vietnamese Government on July 24 signed an agreement on granting US$20 million to help Vietnam reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS among youth.
The HIV/AIDS Prevention among Youth Project is aimed at preventing the spread of the disease through an integrated plan involving mass media and community campaigns. This is part of a comprehensive programme to bring about behaviour change among youths.
ADB's Country Director for Vietnam Ayumi Konishi said the project will be carried out in 15 specific provinces in a five year period from 2006-2011.
