7 family members die in a tragic car accident

The dead were members of a family of 8 who were waiting in the restaurant for their relatives to pick up to a wedding in Tam Quang commune, Nui Thanh district.

The six children were aged between 10-13. The remaining family member escaped the accident by a hair’s breadth.

Witnesses said the car smashed a fence and a parking bike before crashing into the restaurant.

The accident happened at 06.00am. Three people aboard the car, including driver Tran Xuan Dong, 36, were not injured.   

Local police cordoned off the area and cleared the traffic.

Investigations are underway to identify the cause of the accident.
