VOV.VN - More than 60,000 students in Ho Chi Minh City on November 30, participated in a large-scale Vovinam martial arts music performance, held both in person and online, simultaneously setting a Vietnamese national record and a world record.

The Vovinam performance was part of the city’s 50th-anniversary celebrations of its education sector, themed “50 Years of Educational Innovation: A Legacy of the Era, Aspirations for the Future.”

At the main venue along the Saigon River park, 5,000 students performed live, while about 55,000 students from 150 schools across the city joined online, creating a dynamic and massive synchronized display.

Immediately after the performance, organizers presented the certificate recognizing the Vietnamese national record for the program. The event was also officially recognized as a world record for the largest combined live and online Vovinam martial arts music performance by students.

In his speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said the performance carried special significance within the city’s 50th-anniversary celebrations. He noted that the program not only impressed with its scale but also highlighted students’ unity, discipline, and creativity.

The dual record underscores the education sector’s commitment to innovation and affirms Ho Chi Minh City’s pioneering role in integrating traditional culture and sports into schools.

The Deputy Minister expressed hope that students in Ho Chi Minh City will continue to develop physically, strengthen their knowledge and skills, and grow into active, creative, and confident citizens, contributing to a civilized, modern, and compassionate city and a prosperous, happy nation.
