59 nationals detained for illegally crossing into Vietnam from China

VOV.VN - Border guards in the northern province of Cao Bang have detained 59 Vietnamese nationals attempting to illegally enter the country from China, during their patrols along the border on May 31

Upon being discovered by officers of Tra Linh and Ngoc Con Border Stations, the illegal entrants underwent a medical check-up before being immediately placed into quarantine as part of efforts to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

They said they have permanent residence in various localities across Vietnam, including Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa,Nghe An and Soc Trang.

The past few months has seen an increasing number of Vietnamese workers attempting to illegally enter the country from China, making it far more challenging for relevant agencies to ensure security and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
