The Department for Preventive Medicine and the Environment under the Ministry of Health has reported one more death from A/H1N1 influenza, raising the total death toll from the disease in the country to 53 so far.

The latest fatality was 64-year old man from Me So village, Van Giang district, Hung Yen province.

Head of the Department, Nguyen Huy Nga said that the case is very special because he had been treated with Tamiflu for a long time.

Vietnam has so far confirmed 11,104 A/H1N1 cases in 63 provinces and cities.

The Ministry of Health has warned that winter time makes it easier for the disease to spread so people should still remain wary of the disease. When detecting any one with the symptoms they must be isolated and taken immediately to hospital or a medical centre.
