370 inmates from three detention centres in Hanoi will have their terms of imprisonment reduced. Of that number, 209 will have remaining sentences commuted and be out on parole.
The decision was announced on February 3 by the Hanoi People’s Court on occasion of the Traditional New Year Festival (Tet)
Deputy Director of the Hanoi Police, Tran Thuy praised inmates’ re-education efforts while encouraging those who are not selected this time to apply themselves to re-education and abide by all regulations to qualify for early release and be reunited with their families.
