The number of A/H1N1 patients in Vietnam has hit 10,156, including 23 fatalities, according to the Ministry of Health.

Of them, 9,489 have already been discharged from hospital, while the rest are still in quarantine for treatment at hospitals and clinics.

The national medical watchdog recommends that all students, teachers and other staff at schools monitor their own health to detect any symptoms as early as possible. It has established a hot line on 0989 671 115 to receive any feedback about the epidemic.

On October 15, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung authorized an additional VND 594 billion to 47 provinces and cities and eight ministries and sectors to help them fight the A/H1N1 virus.
