300 more Vietnamese evacuees from Ukraine land in Hanoi
VOV.VN - Bamboo Airways flight QH9066 with 300 Vietnamese citizens fleeing Ukraine’s war zones on board landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on March 10 morning.
Most of the passengers were pregnant women, elderly people and those with underlying illnesses. Nearly half of them were children.
They are among nearly 2,500 Vietnamese expatriates who have been evacuated from Ukraine’s war zones to Warsaw for repatriation flights to Vietnam or plans to move to a third country.
This is the first repatriation flight for Vietnamese citizens fleeing Ukraine that Bamboo Airways has conducted, and the second of its kind following Vietnam Airlines’ March 8 flight.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported nearly 4,000 Vietnamese people have been evacuated from Ukraine’s conflict areas to neighbouring countries since Russia launched a special military campaign in Ukraine two weeks ago.
Of the total, nearly 2,500 people have arrived in Poland, 830 in Romania, 560 in Hungary and more than 100 to Slovakia.
