VOV.VN - Vietnam Airlines flight VN58 carrying 259 Vietnamese citizens fleeing Ukraine’s war zones safely landed at Noi Bai International Airport on March 19.
Many of the passengers were children, elderly people and woman.
These citizens who had been evacuated from Ukraine to Poland boarded VN58 at Chopin International Airport in Warsaw on March 18 evening en route to Hanoi (Vietnam).
This is the third repatriation flight for Vietnamese citizens departing from Poland, and the sixth of its kind. In the previous two flights departing from Warsaw on March 9 & 12, nearly 600 Vietnamese citizens had safely returned to Hanoi.
Since Russia launched its special military campaign in Ukraine, thousands of Vietnamese people have fled war zones to neighbouring countries such as Poland, Romania, Hungary, Moldova and Slovakia.
Statistics show more than 2,000 Vietnamese citizens have been assisted to arrive in Poland. Many of them have expressed their desires to return to Vietnam, while others have sought to travel to a third country.
