23 injured as passenger bus plunges down the Hai Van Pass

VOV.VN - At least 23 passengers have been injured after a passenger bus plunged off road on the Hai Van Pass’ ring road at noon on January 8.

According to representatives from the Thua Thien Hue Traffic Safety Committee, the incident took place when the passenger bus was passing through the Hai Van Pass transporting tourists from Da Nang to Hue.

When the bus was 2km away from the foot of the Hai Van Pass in Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the bus to plunge into the abyss.

The relevant forces were mobilised to the scene to save the victims of the accident. All the injured people were immediately hospitalized to receive emergency treatment.

The rescue team has been working on the wreckage of the passenger bus. Brake failure has been identified as the main cause of the accident.
