2019 International Maths and Science Olympiad set to open in Hanoi
VOV.VN - Hanoi is poised to host the 16th International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO) for the first time between November 27-30, according to an announcement made at a press conference in Hanoi on November 25.

This year's competition will bring together 1,725 participants, including 719 candidates, of which 352 are international students, and 367 Vietnamese students along with the participation of 293 international experts, teachers, and observers from 24 different countries globally.
Running with the theme of "Thinking - Innovation - Outstanding Skills", the IMSO 2019 operates with participants divided into two tables.
In Group A, 352 candidates from countries such as the United States, Bulgaria, Singapore, Cambodia, China, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Taiwan will compete. In total the Vietnamese delegation has six teams competing in maths and science.
Le Ngoc Quang, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training said this year's contest will include the addition of Group B for 367 students and teachers from 22 districts across Hanoi.
These methods of organising the examinations will be carried out in accordance with guidelines set by the International IMSO Olympic Committee.
