The 2006 "Make the World Cleaner" campaign, themed "Anti-Desertification", was held in coordination with the Australian Embassy in Vietnam and the Thanh Hoa provincial People's Committee.

Addressing the launching ceremony, the Vice Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen called on local authorities, branches, social organisations and individuals to carry out practical steps to contribute to the cause of global environment protection.

On the first day of the campaign, thousands of young people and students took part in cleaning activities and urged others to join in the campaign.
