Vietnam is the first country to organise Korean language tests in 2010 as the number of Vietnamese workers applying for jobs in the Republic of Korea (RoK) has hit 12,500 – a record high so far.

Applicants who want to work in the RoK under the EPS programme must pass the Korean language tests organised by the RoK Human Resources Development Agency.

Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, head of the Overseas Labour Management Department under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, says the Korean language tests will be held in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho and Vinh on April 23 and 25.

Lee Myung-Hee, general director of the EPS Centre Vietnam thinks Vietnam was the first country chosen to give the test this year because it does a better job of organizing the event. Vietnam has also sent the largest number of guest workers to the RoK. To date, Vietnam has sent 70,000 guest workers to the RoK under the EPS programme.

The results of the language test will be announced on May 13, 2010 on these websites: http://www.molisa.gov.vn, http://www.dolab.gov.vn, http:///www.ttldnnvietnam.gov.vn, http://www.eps.go.kr, http://www.epsklt.hrdkorea.or.kr, and http://www.hrdkorea.or.kr.
