120kg shipment of cocaine seized in Tien Giang

VOV.VN -Close to 120kg of cocaine hidden in a container has been confiscated by police in Tien Giang province.

According to a representative from Uni - President Vietnam, the company’s My Tho city branch imported a shipment of steam dried fishmeal from Peru on May 7. The shipment arrived at Cat Lai port in Ho Chi Minh city and was then transported to the company’s storage facilities in Tien Giang province via a container.

Whilst loading the shipment into the container, the company’s staff found four suspicious black bags. Upon closer inspection the bags were found to contain 119 wrapped packs of cocaine. The discovery was immediately reported to the local police.

A further investigation into the case is now underway.
