1 killed, dozens injured in tragic pile-up in central Vietnam

VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh Road was shut down to travel in the district of Chu Pah in central Gia Lai Province for hours on the morning of Saturday, September 23, following a crash involving a truck and two passenger busses, local police reported.

Dozens of people were taken to area hospitals, local medical personnel reported, after a truck carrying fruit and vegetables collided at about 1:30 am with a bus, which resulted in a second bus rear-ending the first.

Police officials said an assistant driver on one of the busses died at the scene. It’s not clear how serious the injuries are, said local police officials, but it’s their impression that some are life-threatening.

Most of the injured were taken to the 211 Military Hospital in Pleiku City.
