Puea Thai Party MP Jatuporn Prompan and UDD chair Thida Thavornseth told journalists during the red shirts' demonstration at the Ratchaprasong intersection Sunday that the UDD remained united.
More than 10,000 red shirt supporters gathered in the Ratchaprasong area on December 19 to remember those protesters who died during the political rallies seven months ago. Ninety-one people were killed and more than 1,400 were injured in events leading up to and on May 19.
The red shirts filled the road between the Ratchaprasong intersection and the Pratunam intersection, paralysing traffic.
Thida said the UDD would step up its rallies to pressure the government to release on bail all detained red shirt leaders and key figures so they can fight terrorism and other charges against them.
UDD supporters will gather on the 10th and 19th day of every month to mark the April 10 clashes between red shirt protesters and security forces at Khok Wua intersection and the May 19 dispersal of demonstrators in the Ratchaprasong area, she said.
