Israel is holding a tender for the best draft project for a monument commemorating the Soviet victory in World War II.
PM Benjamin Netanyahu has formed a special panel to assess the drafts for the memorial to be built in Netaniya.
"This monument will express our gratitude to the Soviet people who played a key role in defeating Nazism, and also the heroism of the hundreds of thousands of Jews who fought in the Red Army," Netanyahu said in a statement.
