The view was shared by HCM City City Party Committee Secretary Le Thanh Hai and Thongvin Phomvihane, widow of late President Kaysone Phomvihane, at a reception in HCM City on August 21.

Mr Hai said young Vietnamese people, including those from HCM City, have carried out many volunteer works and cultural exchanges with their Lao counterparts during the past years.

This is a vivid manifestation of the fruitful Vietnam-Laos relationship which was built and fostered by late President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam and Kaysone Phomvihane of Laos, said Mr Hai.

Both host and guest agreed that the special relationship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos has developed well in various areas, setting an exemplary role model in international relations.

They all expressed belief that the young generations of the two countries will be the deserved successors to further cement bilateral relations.
