More than 100 Vietnamese and foreign delegates presented reports at the 4th World Information Technology Forum (WITFOR 2009) held in Hanoi from August 26-28.

Speakers shared experiences in developing and applying information and communication technology (ICT).

In his closing speech, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Hong Minh called the forum successful with a series of “practical, useful and valuable” sessions.

He expressed his belief that the forum will help developing countries achieve the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and support the Action Plan of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).

The forum, held in Vietnam for the first time, brought together over 1,000 delegates from more than 70 countries and territories.

The 5th forum will be held in 2011 with the venue to be announced in the near future.
