The Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee held a meeting with 120 female National Assembly deputies in Hanoi on August 2. Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee’s Organising Commission Ho Duc Viet, State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and Vice chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong attended the meeting.

At the meeting, president of the Vietnam Women’s Union Ha Thi Khiet expressed the wish that in their capacity, women NA deputies for the 12th legislature term will spend more time getting to know women’s movements, listen to voters’ opinions, particularly women voters in all fields.


Women across the country believe that women NA deputies will sharpen their political viewpoints, professional skills and moral standards to partly raise public awareness about the role, position and contributions of women.


NA Vice chairwoman Tong Thi Phong said women NA deputies will successfully fulfil their duties, enhance their role in the development and advancement of women in society, and shoulder with the Vietnam Women’s Union the care and protection of the women’s rights and interests.
