This was announced at the Vietnam-Wallonie-Bruxelles joint committee’s seventh meeting in Hanoi on November 12 in the presence of Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen The Phuong and Director General of Wallonie-Bruxelles Phillipe Suinen.
The meeting aimed to review the implementation of joint projects in the 2007-2009 period and work out a cooperation programme for the 2010-2012 period.
Between 2007 and 2009, Wallonie-Bruxelles provided Vietnam with about 100 scholarships for study and research at Wallonie-Bruxelles and sent 200 experts to Vietnam to teach at and transfer technology to the country’s universities and research institutes.
The two parties agreed to focus their 2010-2020 cooperation on fields such as biological technology, pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, medicine, food technology, mechanics and transport-logistics, giving priority to sustainable development, improving human resources, international integration and strengthening institutions.
