Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange (VAVA) have discussed plans to launch promotion campaigns about 50 years of the Agent Orange (Dioxin) disaster caused by the US military in Vietnam.

Representatives of the two organizations met in VOV headquarters on April 13 and agreed on the content of bilateral cooperation in this work.

Accordingly, VOV will focus on reporting on the care of dioxin victims and answering queries about policies regarding the victims.

A great amount of VOV airtime for the 50th anniversary of dioxin being sprayed during the Vietnam War will be from July 27 to August 10.

The President of the VAVA, Nguyen Van Rinh, said these promotional campaigns will provide a comprehensive and profound view of the danger of and damages caused by the US army’s chemical warfare.

Rinh added that commemoration activities are expected to help both people in Vietnam and around the world know more about the heavy and unprecedented consequences of the US armed forces’ chemical warfare in human history.

He expressed his belief that as a major state media source, VOV will make important contributions to these communication campaigns.
