Vinh Phuc seeks close cooperation with Laos
(VOV) - A delegation from Vietnam’s northern province of Vinh Phuc, led by provincial Party Committee Secretary Pham Van Vong, is paying a working visit to Laos’ three northern provinces, Udomsay, Luang Prabang and Luang Namtha from January 7-11.
Both sides have agreed to share experience in economics, culture and social affairs, as well as in their respective Party building and administration management.
Vinh Phuc committed to assisting Lao students who are attending universities and colleges in Vietnam and offered support to Luang Namtha province to build a new conference centre worth US$500,000.
Authorities from Luang Namtha said they will send a delegation to the upcoming Vinh Phuc Culture-Tourism Week 2013.
Delegates from the provinces reached a consensus on plans to foster ideal conditions for business to boost cooperation and promote investment.
At a meeting with Vinh Phuc’s delegation, Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong expressed hope that both sides will actively share experience to increase effective cooperation and fast track hunger eradication and poverty reduction throughout the northern provinces of Laos.
