A delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee led by its President Huynh Dam congratulated the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) on the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s trade union (July 28)  

At a reception in Hanoi on July 27, Mr Dam highlighted the efforts made by Vietnam’s trade union which promote its role as a member of the VFF in the new era and emphasized that the VFF is always proud of the working class and Vietnam’s trade unions.

Over the past 80 years, Vietnam’s trade union has fulfilled its role in the country’s revolutionary cause and has become a core in the workers: peasants – intelligentsia Alliance, helping strengthen the great national unity bloc under the Party’s leadership and contributing to national liberalization, construction and defense.

He expressed his belief that trade unions at all levels, workers, and civil servants nationwide will continue make a greater efforts to study and follow late President Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples, and promote the historic mission of Vietnam’s working class. This will contribute to the process of national industrialization and modernisation as well as international integration while stepping up the renewal process to ensure a prosperous, democratic and civilized country.
