The visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdallah bin Zayid Al Nuhayyan, emphasised this at his meeting with Vietnam’s State President Nguyen Minh Triet in Hanoi on October 22.
President Triet said the two countries’ potential will help them strengthen bilateral political and economic cooperation. He expressed his hope that more UAE businesses will expand their operation in Vietnam, especially in infrastructure for traffic and energy development.
Minister Nuhayyan expressed his delight at Vietnam’s effort to get out of the global crisis. He said he is confident that his visit will help the UAE and Vietnam expand cooperation labour and renewable energy development and bring more Vietnamese workers to the country, said Mr. Nuhayyan.
He said the UAE’s recent projects to build a port cluster in Ho Chi Minh City and an oil refinery will be mutually beneficial.
Mr. Nuhayyan also congratulated Vietnam on its ASEAN chairmanship and pledged to help Vietnam coordinate closely with the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
On the same day, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem met with Mr. Nuhayyan.
During the meeting, both ministers discussed the agreement on the cooperation in education and an exemption of diplomatic and business visas.
