The visit headed by Hoang Binh Quan is made at the invitation of the Communist Party of China’s International Liaison Department.
While in China, the Vietnamese delegation paid a courtesy visit to Party Secretary General and State President Hu Jintao and met with State Vice President Xi Jinping.
Mr Quan congratulated China on its achievements over 30 years of reforms and expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people would successfully implement the resolutions of the XVII Party Congress to build a socialist society with Chinese characteristics.
The Chinese leaders spoke highly of Vietnam’s renewal achievements and expressed their belief that Vietnam will overcome the impact of the global financial crisis and improve its position in the international arena.
They affirmed that China attaches importance to developing relations with Vietnam in the framework of “comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership”, embracing the guidelines of being good neighbours, friends, comrades and partners and engaging in all-around cooperation in the interests of long-term stability with a view towards the future.
The Vietnamese Party delegation held talks with a delegation of the International Liaison Department, headed by director Wang Jiarui. The two sides discussed measures to implement high-level agreements between the two Parties and countries and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
