Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thonglun Sisoulith on February 09 presented high Lao distinctions to 59 Vietnamese nationals in recognition of their significant contributions to Laos’ national liberation, construction and defence.

The distinctions include the Itsala (Freedom) Order, third class, the Labour Order, second and third class, the Labour Medal, and the Certificate of Merits of the government.

Tran Hanh – a Vietnamese national – thanked the Lao Party, State, Government and people for creating favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community to contribute to the Lao revolution.

He said the awards are an invaluable source of encouragement to not only the winners but also all Vietnamese living in Laos.

He expressed the community’s determination to work closely with the Lao people to cement special ties between the two countries.
