A high-level delegation from the Ministry of National Defence, led by Deputy Minister Sen. Lt. Gen Nguyen Huy Hieu, paid a working visit to Greece from April 12-14.

During the visit, which was made at the invitation of the Greek Defence Ministry, the Vietnamese delegation exchanged views with Greek acting Defence Minister Panagiotis Beglitis and Chief of General Staff of the Greek Armed Forces General Loannis Giagkos.

The two sides discussed measures to boost bilateral cooperation in national defence.

The Vietnamese guests also held a working session with the General Staff, and visited the National Defence Academy and the Mine Clearance Battalion of Greece.

They expressed hope that the visit, the first of its kind so far, would help boost friendship and cooperation in national defence between the two countries, open up opportunities for promoting cooperation in national defence technology, materials supply and mine clearance, as well as overcoming the aftermath of war and resolving other issues of mutual concern.
