Vietnamese Embassy in Israel issues urgent notice to its community
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel issued an urgent notice on the morning of February 28 to Vietnamese nationals living, studying and working in the country, urging them to heighten vigilance and strictly comply with local safety regulations.
According to the Embassy, Israel launched preemptive strikes on the morning of February 28 against several military targets and strategic infrastructure sites in Iran. Based on its assessment of the situation, Israel’s Home Front Command decided to shift the nationwide operational status from “full activity” to “essential activity only.”
All educational activities have been suspended; public gatherings are prohibited; and workplaces and facilities are closed, except for essential services. The policy takes effect from 08:00 on February 28, 2026 to 20:00 on March 2, 2026. Residents are required to remain close to shelters, closely monitor missile alerts and be ready to act immediately when sirens sound.
Israel’s airspace has been closed to civilian flights until further notice. All commercial flights to and from Israel have been suspended. Several foreign embassies in Israel, including those of the United States, the United Kingdom and Poland, have also advised their citizens to strictly follow local authorities’ instructions, limit non-essential travel and prepare contingency plans to leave Israel when conditions permit.
Given the developments, and to ensure the safety of people and property, the Vietnamese Embassy urged the community to strictly implement the following measures:
First, fully comply with security and safety regulations and guidance issued by local authorities; regularly update information through Vietnamese community groups in Israel to stay informed and exchange information when necessary.
Second, minimize travel between cities during this sensitive period; stay near areas with shelters where possible; proactively prepare safety plans for themselves and their families; and be ready to return to Vietnam or relocate to a third country when permitted.
Third, maintain regular contact with the Embassy. In case of emergency or the need for consular assistance, Vietnamese nationals are advised to contact the following hotlines: +972 555 025 616 and +972 508 783 373.
The Embassy said it will continue to closely monitor developments and promptly update the community.
