The Vietnamese Foreign Ministry will closely cooperate with its Cuban counterpart in implementing the agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders at their talks on the development of bilateral relations.

Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh affirmed this at a meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla in Hanoi on July 9, within the framework of the Cuban President Raul Castro Ruz’s visit to Vietnam.

The two ministers proposed coordinated efforts to accelerate exchanges at all levels and organize an annual political consultation session in Havana in late 2012.

They also compared notes on regional and international issues of mutual concern and declared that the two countries have well coordinated in supporting each other for benefit of national construction and defence at international forums.

FM Minh thanked Cuba for its active contribution to the Vietnam-Latin America Trade and Investment Forum hosted by Vietnamese Foreign Ministry in Hanoi on July 5-6.
