On December 22, Vietnamese ambassador to France Duong Chi Dung presented his credentials to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, along with other diplomats from 21 nations in different continents.

The French President expressed his delight at the fine development of Vietnam-France relations in recent times, wishing that these ties will continue grow and flourish. Mr Sarkozy recalled his good sentiments towards Vietnamese land and people and said he will visit Vietnam in the near future.

Ambassador Dung conveyed warm greetings and invitation from State President Truong Tan Sang to Mr Sarkozy to visit Vietnam.

Vietnam and France have long established the ties of friendship and cooperation and their leaders are keen to build a strategic partnership for mutual benefits. Vietnam is looking forward to closer and more effective cooperation between the two nations, Mr Dung said.

As planned, ambassador Dung will present his credentials in Portugal on January 10 and in Monaco on February 9.
