Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), made the statement while receiving acting DPJ President Yoshito Sengoku in Hanoi on February 26.

Sang expressed his belief that Sengoku, with his prestige, will continue making important contributions to developing the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan as well as speed up the effective implementation of the two countries’ cooperative projects.

He also applauded the expansion of cooperation in supporting industries and coping with climate change.

For his part, Sengoku said that the DPJ in particular and the Japanese government and people in general have attached importance to developing the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam and would make efforts to effectively implement agreements reached by the two countries, thus deepening their strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia.
