Minister Morin has been in Vietnam on an official visit at the invitation of Minister of Defence Phung Quang Thanh.

President Triet said he was delighted at the development of Vietnam-France cooperation in many fields.

In reply, Minister Morin said France is keen to develop the strategic partnership with Vietnam, share experiences in security and defence, and help the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence with personnel training, trade promotion, and technology transfer.

Earlier the same day, Mr. Morin had a working session with his Vietnamese counterpart Phung Quang Thanh. Both partners discussed ways to promote cooperation for the benefit of peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region and in the world as a whole.
