Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on November 23 held talks with his Cambodian counterpart Hunsen on the sidelines of the 9th Summit of Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Area (CLV9) in Siem Reap.
The two leaders agreed on measures to promote bilateral ties in all fields and an early completion of border demarcation for peace, friendship and economic development.
Prime Minister Phuc asked for the Cambodian government’s support in facilitating Vietnamese people in Cambodia in their legal and economic aspects.
PM Hun Sen in turn also affirmed that Cambodia is keen on promoting its relationship with Vietnam.
The two PMs discussed a broad array of issues related to Vietnam-Cambodia ties as well as measures todeepen bilateral partnership in economy and trade, and to ensure security and political stability in each country.
They expressed their desire to soon complete the border demarcation so as to build the common border of peace, friendship, stability and development, thus facilitating border economic growth and people-to-people exchanges.
PM Phuc proposed the Cambodian Government and PM Hun Sen continue offering the best possible conditions for Cambodians of Vietnamese origin to stabilise their lives thus helping them contribute to Cambodia’s socio-economic development.
They concurred to cooperate closely on the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year and will co-chair the inauguration ceremony of Long Binh bridge between An Giang and Chrey Thom in early 2017.
PM Phuc used the occasion to invite PM Hun Sen and his wife to visit Vietnam soon and the invitation was graciously accepted.
