A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by Hoang Binh Quan, Politburo member and Head of the Party’s Central Committee's External Relations Commission, visited the Ukraine on May 16-21 at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

During their stay in the Ukraine, the delegation had talks with the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ukrainian Communist Party, Chairman of the National Assembly, First Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs.

They also took part in a seminar on the Vietnamese and Ukrainian Communist Parties in the present day.

The Vietnamese delegation also went to Kharkov City and met with local authority leaders and the municipal party committee, visited two industrial parks and talked with the overseas Vietnamese community in this city.

Both parties confirmed that they will step up cooperation between the two party committees and ensure the younger generations fully understand the depth of the traditional friendship between the two peoples.

The Ukrainian government leaders asserted that in recent years, the multi-faceted relationship between the two countries has not yet met their expectations.

The Ukraine proposed stepping up cooperation in areas such as trade, science, technology, education and training and culture. The leaders of the Ukraine’s communist party, government and national assembly appreciated the significance of the visit by Vietnam’s delegation, considering it an important milestone in the relationship between the two countries.
