Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu received a delegation from the UK-Vietnam Parliamentarians’ Friendship Group on May 27, led by Chairman Ben Chapman, who is currently visiting Vietnam.

The NA Vice Chairman spoke highly of the level of cooperation between the Vietnam NA and the UK parliament in political affairs, investment, trade, education and the fight against transnational crimes in recent years.

He thanked the UK parliament for advising Vietnam and expressed hope that the UK would work closer with Vietnam, strengthening the two countries’ relationship.

Chairman Chapman said that both governments should consider expanding their cooperation and sign a memorandum of understanding.

During their visit to Vietnam, which began on May 24, the UK parliamentarians visited several localities, including Hue and Da Nang.

During their trip, they also met with the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, the NA Committee for External Affairs and the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
