Vietnam treasures relations with Cambodia

Vietnam is keen to develop mutually beneficial political, diplomatic, defence and cultural relations with Cambodia, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

At a reception in Hanoi for Cambodia’s permanent Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An on July 23, PM Dung praised the Cambodian Deputy PM’s working visit to Vietnam’s Government Inspectorate as a practical contribution to promoting friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He said both sides should continue coordinating closely in organizing celebrations for Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year and carrying out cooperation agreements. Vietnam will always be a reliable and faithful friend of Cambodia, the PM added.

Cambodian PM Sam An said the purpose of her visit is to share experiences and boost bilateral cooperation in inspection work, adding that Cambodia wants to learn from Vietnam’s experience and receive support in combating corruption and dealing with complaints and denunciations.

Mrs Sam An emphasized the need to step up communication on the fine friendship and cooperation between the two countries and prevent distorted allegations from creating a division between the two peoples.
