Nguyen Phuong Nga was born in August 27, 1963, graduated from the international journalism department at Moscow State Institute of International Relations. She has a good command of a number of foreign languages such as Russian, English and French.

She has worked as deputy head of the Journalism Department under the MOFA since 1989. Earlier, she served at the Vietnamese embassies in Thailand, Belgium and Luxembourg and was a member of the Vietnamese delegation to the EU.

At the press conference, the new MOFA spokesperson Nguyen Phuong Nga said that Vietnam will open a Consul General in Houston, Texas in the US in September. Le Dung will play the leading role at the new Consul General.
