She also affirmed the country’s priority in increasing friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Thailand while meeting with Pikulkeaw Krairiksh, Head of the Thai Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee, in Hanoi on August 20.
Ms Phong expressed pleasure at the development of the two legislative bodies, saying they have exchanged regular visits to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
She hailed Thailand’s success in hosting the 30th session of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-30), hoping that the Thai parliament would share its experience and support the Vietnam National Assembly in organising the next AIPA meeting in Hanoi, and increase cooperation with Vietnam at multilateral forums.
She asked the two legislative bodies to continue to support and promote economic cooperation, trade and investment, thus contributing to the development of Vietnam-Thailand relations.
Ms Phong conveyed NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong’s invitation to the speakers of the Thai Senate and Lower House to attend the AIPA-31 scheduled for Hanoi in September.
Pikulkeaw Krairiksh underscored the need to boost exchange and cooperation between the two legislative bodies and said her committee would spare no effort to make a greater contribution to promoting relations between the two parliaments and two countries.
