A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Tran Dac Loi, Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations paid working visits to Angola, Algeria and Egypt from August 30 to September 9.

In Angola, the CPV delegation joined international observers in monitoring the parliamentary and presidential general elections and worked with the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) Party on measures to boost bilateral ties between the two parties

It also met with representatives of the Vietnamese community to learn about their current situation.

In Algeria, the CPV delegation met with officials from the National Liberation Front (FLN) Party, Speaker for the People's National Assembly Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa and managers of Newspaper Echaab (the People).

The main focus of discussion was on measures to strengthen ties of cooperation between the two parties and the two countries in politics, economics and culture.

In Egypt, the CPV delegation met with representatives from some political parties and worked with the Institute for Africa and Middle East Studies (IAMES) to learn about new developments in Egypt after the political crisis last year

It briefed them on Vietnam’s foreign policy as well as its on-going Doi Moi (Renewal) process.

The host parties praised Vietnam’s renewal achievements and expressed their wish to further boost cooperation with the country in agriculture, industry, construction, trade, oil and gas and telecommunications in the near future.
