State President Truong Tan Sang on August 2 cabled a message of sympathy to President of the Presidium of Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Yong-nam over great losses caused by recent heavy rains.
The rains, an subsequent flood, left dozens of people dead, injured and missing while 60,000 hectares of farmland were submerged.
State President Truong Tan Sang also sent a message of condolences to President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Lee Myung-bak over the loss of lives and property caused by the recent heavy rainfall in the country.
The disaster claimed dozens of lives, left over 11,000 people homeless and flooded 978 hectares of farmland across the country.
