Vietnam wants to further cooperation with the US, especially in investment, education, training, science, technology, and labour.
This statement was made by Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Le Thanh Hai, while receiving a delegation of US senators led by Daniel K. Inouye and Thad Cochran on April 29.
At the reception, the two sides expressed their wish to strengthen bilateral ties between Vietnam and the US in various fields and increase exchanges between the young generations of the two countries.
Senator Daniel K. Inouye, Chairman of the US Senate Appropriations Committee, said the purpose of the delegation’s visit to HCM City was to study the city’s role in Vietnam’s rapid economic development and in the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
He affirmed that, after this visit, he and his colleagues would continue to work on improving the relationship between the US and Vietnam.
