Vietnam regards Japan as important partner

President Tran Dai Quang made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on September 12 for a delegation from the Kansai Economic Federation of Japan (Kankeiren).
Talking to Kankeiren Chairman Shosuke Mori, President Quang expressed his delight at the expansion of economic, trade and investment ties between Vietnam and Japan, which has contributed to the countries’ extensive strategic partnership.He said he believes that proposals by the Kansai Economic Federation will contribute to boosting Vietnamese-Japanese relations.
He called on Kansai businesses to invest in infrastructure and support industry, and environmental solutions in Vietnam.
Shosuke Mori told his host that Kankeiren groups 1,300 companies and aims to support its members to promote competitiveness in Kansai region and expand operations in the world.
He said through this visit, his federation looks to enhance economic ties between Kansai and Vietnam and seek business opportunities, especially when the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement will take effect in the near future.
He added that he hopes the Vietnam-Kansai economic dialogue will become an annual event through which Kansai businesses can contribute more to Vietnam’s development.
The same day, President Quang had a meeting a meeting with Aichi Governor, Hideaki Omura during which he said friendly relations between Vietnam and Aichi prefecture of Japan have steadily developed with more than 100 businesses from Aichi prefecture investing in Vietnam.

Vietnam now has over 13,000 people working and studying in Aichi prefecture.
Vietnam and Aichi boast great potential for broader cooperation in the automobile and support industries, agriculture, and vocational training.
He expected more businesses from Aichi to invest in Vietnam, noting that Vietnam will always offer the best possible conditions for Japanese investors.
Omura, in turn briefed Quang on the outcomes of his working session with the Transport Ministry, saying that the opening of direct flights connecting Aichi and Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will facilitate exchange and travelling between Japan’s central region and Vietnam.
He said he expects more support from the Vietnamese State to expand ties with Vietnam as a contribution to strengthening the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia.
Also the same day, the Governor was also received by Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, who asked his guest to pay heed to investment in Vietnam, especially in automobiles, support industry and tourism, as well as share experience with the country in agriculture, technology transfer, and workforce training in high-tech farming.
He also called for more assistance for Vietnamese technical graduates major in mechanical engineering and agriculture as well as Vietnamese nationals living in the prefecture.
Omura showed his belief that cooperation between Japan in general and Aichi in particular and Vietnam will grow and flourish in the time ahead.
