Vietnam ready to help Japan overcome natural disasters

Vietnam believes that the Japanese Government and people will overcome the consequences of natural disasters to stabilise their lives soon.

The statement was made by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung during his visit to the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi on March 17 to share his deep sympathy with the Japanese Government and people.

In the funeral book, PM Dung wrote, ”The Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam are in deep mourning for the victims of the catastrophic quake and tsunami in Japan and share deep sympathy with the Japanese Government and people.”

He told Japanese Ambassador Yasuaki Tanizaki that Vietnam and Japan are strategic partners and close friends and Vietnam is ready to help Japan overcome its difficulties.

Mr Dung also thanked Japan for supporting Vietnamese citizens and keeping them safe in Japan despite facing numerous difficulties after the catastrophe.

The Japanese diplomat said in the face of the natural disasters and nuclear power leaks, Japan is sparing no efforts to deal with the situation.

The same day, State President Nguyen Minh Triet, former State President Tran Duc Luong, State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and other leaders and staff from the State President’s Office donated their one-day salary to share difficulties with the Japanese people.

In the funeral book at the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office, Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his deep sympathy to the Japanese Government and people and his hope that they will overcome the consequences of natural disasters to stabilise their lives soon.

In response to the appeal from the Vietnam Red Cross, the Party Central Committee’s Office also raised money for Japanese people.
