The Public Security Ministry’s Department of Criminal Investigation on April 19 said that it had coordinated with Kien Giang provincial police to identify Le John while he was sheltering at a house in Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province. 

According to the investigation, Le John is accused of committing armed robbery at a bank in Houston, Texas on May 20, 2008 and another, also in Houston, on June 7, 2008. 

After he escaped to Vietnam on February 2009, he married a woman in Kien Giang province and has been hiding out there ever since. 

The US police issued an international red alert for Le John on September 8, 2009. 

He is currently being kept by Vietnamese police and will be handed over to the US.
