On December 10, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA), Tong Thi Phong received President of the Poland-Vietnam friendship parliamentary group, Jolanta Szczypinska and her delegation which is visiting Vietnam from December 9-15.

Mrs Phong praised positive changes in Vietnam-Poland relations, especially economic ties, while saying that Vietnam always attaches great importance to developing relations with traditional countries, including Poland.

Two-way turnover between the two countries is estimated to reach US$700 million this year. Vietnam and Poland have also opened a direct air route which will help favourable conditions to boost bilateral ties.

The NA Vice Chairwoman said she hoped both countries would strengthen comprehensive cooperation in areas of their strengths such as shipbuilding and mining. She thanked the Polish Government and its people for facilitating the lives of overseas Vietnamese in Poland.

Mrs Jolanta said the two parliaments should promote exchanges and share experiences for mutual benefit.

During their stay in Vietnam, Mrs Jolanta and her delegation met with leaders from Hanoi and Quang Ninh province, the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Trade.
