The Government leader highlighted Vietnamese-Chinese relations as a valuable asset, which he said needs to be respected for further development. Accordingly, he underlined the need to speed up socio-economic development, improve people's living conditions, and enhance their cooperation in trade and investment.
The two sides will soon implement the "two corridors, one economic belt" development programme, the PM said. He added that the focus will be placed on developing road systems of two corridors, connecting Nanning-Lang Son-Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh-Dong Xing, and Yunnan-Lao Cai-Hanoi, which are considered important for promoting the economic development of the two countries.
Mr Dung spoke highly of the results of the talks held earlier between the two ministries, which focused on promoting the implementation of an US$1 billion project to build a port complex in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau by the Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) and the China Merchants Corporation, as well as the planning of road systems put forward in the "two corridors, one economic belt" programme.
On behalf of leaders of the Party and the State of Vietnam, PM Dung extended his wishes to Chinese Party General Secretary and President Hu Jintao, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, and other Party and State leaders of China.
For his part, minister Li Shenglin affirmed that he would do his utmost to implement high-grade agreements reached between leaders of the two countries and to facilitate the implementation of projects on transport and communications development.
